Saath holds unusually personal material: who is in your family, when they were born, what they looked like, and how they sound. This page says plainly what is recorded, who can see it, and who else processes it. Saath is Saath, operated as a sole proprietorship.
Because you told us:
Because you used the service:
We never receive your card details.Payment happens on Razorpay’s systems; we are told only that a payment succeeded and which purchase it relates to.
A family tree is by nature a record about other people, and most of them will not have an account. If you record someone, you are asserting that it is reasonable within your family to do so. If a relative asks to be removed, write to us and we will remove their personal details; tell us and we will act.
The same applies to children. Saath is not directed at children and children do not hold accounts, but family trees necessarily include them. Details about a minor should be added only by an adult in their family with the standing to do so.
Your family’s records are visible to the members of your family on Saath — not publicly, and not to other families. Within that, you control the boundary: you can hide a branch from your own view, and you can restrict a branch so that you and they stop seeing each other. That restriction is symmetric by design, and we tell you so before you apply it.
The occasion catalogue itself — the descriptions of rites and festivals — is general reference material and is not your family’s private data.
We use a small number of processors, each for one job. They hold data on our instruction and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
Data is held on infrastructure operated by the processors above, which may be outside India. We keep your family’s records for as long as the account exists, because the point of the product is that a record outlasts a phone.
Releasing coverage does not delete anything. If you release a coverage slot, that relative’s story photographs, dates of passing or marriage and voice notes remain and stay readable — they simply become read-only. This is deliberate: a family record should not disappear because a purchase lapsed. If you want material actually removed, ask us.
Write to ss.bhanots@gmail.com to see what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. We will respond within 30 days.
One honest limit: a family tree is shared. Deleting your account removes your sign-in and the details that are yours alone, but records other members of your family have added, and entries about you that they hold in their own tree, are theirs. Where we cannot delete something without destroying another family member’s record, we will tell you rather than quietly do neither.
Access is enforced in the database itself, not only in the app, so a request that bypasses the interface is refused by the same rules. Photographs and voice notes are served through short-lived links rather than public URLs. No system is perfect; if we discover a breach affecting your family’s data, we will tell you.
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top and, where the change matters to you, tell you directly. Questions or requests: ss.bhanots@gmail.com.
